Floor Cleaning Solutions – Hard Floor Cleaners & Degreasers FAQ

Can I use dish soap for mopping sealed floors?

No, it leaves a residue that attracts dirt, and with time floor will start to feel sticky. Use neutral rinse free floor detergent instead.

Why is my polished floor cloudy?

Build-up from over concentrated detergent or insufficient rinsing. Always dilute to manufactures guidelines.

How should I dilute concentrated floor cleaners?

Always follow the instructions on the label. Using more chemical than needed won’t improve cleaning and can leave the floor sticky. For example, if the ratio is 1 to 80, that means you only need 12.5 ml of cleaner mixed into 1 litre of water.

Why do my floors look streaky after mopping?

Streaks are most often seen on shiny surfaces such as high-gloss tiles or polished floors. They usually occur when the wrong chemical is used or the cleaning solution is mixed too strongly. For glossy floors, a specialised product like Agar Mop and Dry is recommended to achieve a clean, streak-free finish.

Do I need a special cleaner for greasy floors?

Yes. Oily floors in kitchens or workshops need a degreaser. A versatile option is Agar Dirt-Off, which works well in tough greasy areas without harming the floor.

Are eco friendly cleaners as good as regular ones?

Yes. Eco-friendly cleaners are now formulated to work as effectively as standard products. When mixed correctly, they clean dirt and grease while being safer for people and the environment.

How often should sealed vinyl floors be buffed?

Every 2–3 weeks depending on traffic in commercial environments, and 6-12 month in general household.

Can I autoscrub vinyl floors daily?

Yes, with a neutral, low-foam cleaner at the correct dilution.

What mop type works best for sealed floors?

Good quality flat microfibre spray mops provide even coverage and minimal water use.
