Description

Some areas smell before they look dirty. A problem toilet block, a washroom or a kennel run holds an odour that comes straight back through the day, and a neutral detergent cleans the floor without touching the air above it.

Agar Ocean Air is a detergent air freshener, sold here as 5Lt of green concentrate with a fresh fragrance. Surfactants in it attack and disperse soilage, while strong perfume extracts cling to the surface and re-odorise the area through the day. Those two actions together are the point of the product: the floor comes up clean, and the room keeps smelling fresh long after the mop has gone through.

One bottle for the mop bucket, the odour problem and the spray gun

Three dilutions cover three jobs out of the one drum. Everyday washing and mopping of floors, walls, fittings and glass takes a weak mix; offensive and putrid odours take a strong mop once the source of them is gone; a hand spray gun freshens room air on its own. Cleaning teams carry one bottle on the trolley instead of a detergent and a separate deodoriser, and the store room holds one line instead of two.

Current Safety Data Sheet and Product Data Sheet are linked below, so a supervisor can check the dilutions and the eye protection call before the first bucket goes out.

Puts the perfume on the surface, not just in the air: Once the source of the odour is removed, a strong mop left without rinsing leaves residual perfume behind on the surface, and that perfume keeps re-odorising the area through the day.

One product covers the cleaning and the deodorising: The same concentrate washes hard surfaces and charges an atomiser spray gun for room air, so the trolley carries one bottle instead of two.

A 5Lt bottle goes a long way on daily mopping: At about two thirds of a cup per wringer bucket, 5Lt of concentrate makes roughly 250 to 500 litres of mopping solution.

Built for the areas that beat a general detergent: Problem toilet areas, washrooms, bathrooms, kennels and animal enclosures are the jobs it is made for, and neat Ocean Air can go on for extreme odours.

Biodegradable and phosphate free: The detergent is biodegradable and contains no phosphate, and used solutions go to sewer rather than to stormwater.

Where it can be used:

  • Hard surfaces including polished floors, tiled areas, fittings, glass and walls.
  • Problem toilet areas, washrooms and bathrooms.
  • Kennels and animal enclosures.
  • Room air, sprayed from an atomiser spray gun.

Usage Guidelines

General cleaning of floors, walls, fittings and glass: Dilute 1 in 50 to 1 in 100 with water depending on soilage, which is about two thirds of a cup per wringer bucket. Wash or mop the surface with the diluted solution. Take the stronger end of the range on heavier soilage.

Offensive and putrid odours: Remove the source of the odour first. Rinse or mop the area with a 1 in 10 dilution, then leave it: do not rinse afterwards, so the perfume stays on the surface. Neat Ocean Air may be applied for extreme odours.

Air freshening: Dilute 1 in 30 with water in a hand spray gun or atomiser and spray high into the room. Washing and mopping still use the 1 in 50 to 1 in 100 dilution.

Before the bucket goes out:

1. Check the dilution against the job, since the same bottle runs at three different strengths.
2. Wear protective glasses or goggles while measuring and pouring the concentrate.
3. Do not mix Ocean Air with other chemicals. Strong oxidising agents are incompatible with it.

The concentrate becomes non hazardous once diluted to 1 in 2.4 or more with water, so every working dilution above sits well inside that.

FAQ

Q. How much Ocean Air goes in a mop bucket?

A. About two thirds of a cup per wringer bucket of water. That works out at 1 in 50 to 1 in 100 depending on how dirty the floor is, and heavier soilage takes the stronger end of the range.

Q. Does Ocean Air get rid of the smell or just cover it up?

A. It covers it. Ocean Air is an odour masking deodoriser, so the perfume clings to the surface and re-odorises the area through the day rather than destroying the odour chemically. Remove the source of the odour first, then treat the area.

Q. How do I clean a toilet block or kennel that still smells of urine?

A. Remove the source of the odour first, then rinse or mop the area with a 1 in 10 dilution and leave it there without rinsing. Residual perfume stays on the surface and re-odorises through the day. Neat Ocean Air can go on for extreme odours.

Q. Can I use Ocean Air in a spray bottle as a room freshener?

A. Yes. Dilute 1 in 30 with water in a hand spray gun or atomiser and spray high into the room. Mopping and washing use the weaker 1 in 50 to 1 in 100 dilution.

Q. Can I use it on polished floors?

A. Yes. Polished floors are one of the surfaces it is made for, along with tiled areas, fittings, glass and walls. Use the general dilution of 1 in 50 to 1 in 100 for those jobs.

Q. Is Ocean Air a disinfectant?

A. No. It is a detergent air freshener that cleans hard surfaces and masks odours, and it carries no disinfectant or sanitiser claim. Where a site needs disinfecting, run a disinfectant as a separate step.
