Description

In healthcare, childcare and clinical rooms, the surfaces that get touched all day are the same ones that need to be clean and free of the bugs that spread infection. Bench tops, tap fittings, cot rails, telephones and door handles all carry that risk, and going over them twice with a separate cleaner and a separate disinfectant eats up time your team does not have.

Whiteley Viraclean is a ready to use hospital grade disinfectant that cleans and disinfects hard surfaces in one pass. It is listed on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods as a hospital grade disinfectant, and it kills a broad range of bacteria and viruses including SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19), MRSA, VRE and Hepatitis B virus. Because it works in both clean and dirty conditions, a soiled surface can be cleaned and disinfected in the same wipe.

Gentle on the surfaces you clean every day

Viraclean has a neutral pH and contains no chlorine or oxidising biocides, so it lifts soil and disinfects without corroding metals or staining fabrics and carpets. That matters on stainless steel benches, painted trolleys and upholstered chairs that a bleach based product slowly damages over time. The light pink liquid carries a mild lemon fragrance, which suits occupied rooms where a harsh chemical smell is a problem.

The result is one disinfectant a cleaning team can carry from the treatment room to the front desk, doing the cleaning and the disinfecting in a single pass.

Why cleaners choose Whiteley Viraclean

Kills the pathogens that spread infection: Viraclean is proven to kill a broad range of bacteria and viruses, including SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19), MRSA, VRE and Hepatitis B virus. That gives infection control teams documented cover on the surfaces most likely to pass bugs between people.

Cleans and disinfects in one step: One pass with Viraclean does the job of a separate cleaner and a separate disinfectant. Your team clears soil and disinfects the surface together, which cuts both the time on each round and the number of products on the trolley.

Gentle on expensive surfaces: A neutral pH and no chlorine mean Viraclean disinfects without corroding metals or staining fabrics and carpets. Stainless steel benches, trolleys and upholstered chairs come up clean without the slow damage a bleach based product causes.

Works on soiled surfaces, not just clean ones: Viraclean disinfects in both clean and dirty conditions, so a bench marked with blood, sweat or food soil can be cleaned and disinfected in the same wipe. That suits real cleaning rounds, where surfaces are rarely spotless to start with.

Ready to use straight from the bottle: There is no diluting or measuring, so every application goes on at full strength and every staff member uses it the same way. For a busy site that removes the guesswork and the wasted product that come with mixing.

Usage Guidelines

USE UNDILUTED FOR DISINFECTION
The use of gloves is recommended whenever using disinfectants.
To remove organic soiling (blood, sweat, sputum etc) from a surface, it is recommended to apply Viraclean®
liberally around the soiled area and work towards the centre. Soak up using fresh, disposable cloth.
Once clean, to disinfect the surface, apply undiluted and leave to dry for 10 minutes at room temperature.
If required, soak up using fresh, disposable towelling.
Used towelling should then be disposed to a suitable receptacle.
Not intended for use on therapeutic devices.

FAQ

Q. Do you dilute Viraclean, or put it in a mop bucket?

A. No. Viraclean is used undiluted, straight from the bottle, so it does not go into a mop bucket like a floor detergent. On floors, spray or wipe it on undiluted, or apply it to a spill or soiled patch and leave it to disinfect that area.

Q. Will Viraclean damage or discolour delicate surfaces?

A. Viraclean suits a wide range of everyday surfaces, but it has not been tested on every plastic or coated finish. On an unusual or precious surface, wipe a hidden spot first and stop using it there if you see any softening, cracking or colour change.

Q. How is Viraclean different from using bleach?

A. Bleach corrodes metals, marks fabrics and gives off a strong chlorine smell, and it works best only on a surface you have already cleaned. Viraclean handles stainless steel, trolleys and soft furnishings and does the cleaning and disinfecting in one go. Bleach still earns its place for heavy jobs like reclaiming badly stained grout.

Q. How long does Viraclean last once I have it in stock?

A. Viraclean has an 18-month shelf life from the date it is made, so a 5Lt bottle keeps well as backup stock. Use your oldest stock first so nothing sits past its date on the shelf.

Q. Can I use Viraclean in a kitchen or on food preparation surfaces?

A. Viraclean is listed and formulated for healthcare hard surfaces, and its directions do not cover food-contact use, so it is not the right pick for benches where food is prepared. Use a food-grade sanitiser on those surfaces, and keep Viraclean for the clinical and high-touch points it is made for.

Q. Is Viraclean overkill for a home or small office?

A. For routine home or office wiping, a disinfectant usually does the job. Viraclean earns its place where you need documented, TGA-listed disinfection: a childcare room, a clinic, a vulnerable person at home, or cleaning up a blood or body-fluid spill.
