Whiteley Lemex Neutral Detergent for Floors and Medical Devices 5Lt

Healthcare and facility cleaning programs often require a neutral detergent before any separate disinfection step. Whiteley Lemex is a concentrated, lemon fragranced cleaner for routine soil removal from floors, benches, washable hard surfaces and non critical medical devices.

The pH 6 to 8 cationic detergent system is non corrosive to common hard surfaces and most fibres when used as directed. Lemex is included in ARTG 125529 as a Class I medical device detergent and must be used as a cleaner only where a medical device also requires disinfection.

Neutral Detergent for Healthcare and Facility Cleaning

Routine facility cleaning: Lemex removes everyday soil from floors, benches and washable hard surfaces across healthcare, commercial and domestic environments.

Medical device surface cleaning: Use it to clean non critical medical devices such as operating tables, theatre trolleys and lights before any required disinfection step.

Materials compatibility: The neutral and non corrosive formulation is suitable for common hard surfaces, most fibres and many hospital or commercial floor finishes.

Flexible concentration: Separate dilution rates cover normal cleaning, heavy soil, deodorising, autoscrubbers and medical device cleaning.

Bulk cleaning yield: At the stated autoscrubber dilution, one 5Lt container makes approximately 333L of cleaning solution.

Where Lemex Can Be Used

Whiteley Lemex is intended for routine cleaning in healthcare, commercial and domestic facilities. Confirm the surface or medical device manufacturer's cleaning instructions before using it on an unfamiliar finish or item.

Surface Cleaning: Ideal for cleaning floors, walls, and other hard surfaces in hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare facilities.

Dilution:
Normal cleaning: Dilute 25mL per 1L of potable water.
Heavy cleaning: Dilute 50mL per 1L of potable water.
Deodorising: Dilute 200mL per 1L of potable water.
Autoscrubber cleaning: Dilute 15mL per 1L of potable water.
Medical devices with no visible soiling: Dilute 25mL per 1L of potable water.

Medical devices soiled with blood or body fluids: Dilute 50mL per 1L of potable water. Follow the facility procedure for spill removal, disinfection and waste handling.

Solution management: Prepare fresh diluted solution each day.

Medical device use: Lemex is a cleaner only. Where disinfection is required, complete the cleaning step and then apply an approved disinfectant according to the device instructions and facility procedure.

Warning: Causes serious eye irritation.

Wear eye protection when handling or decanting the concentrate.
Wear nitrile gloves or similar gloves to reduce skin contact.
Wash hands thoroughly after handling.
Keep the product in its original container with the lid tightly sealed.
Store below 30°C in a cool, dry and well ventilated area away from direct sunlight.
Do not mix Lemex with other chemicals.
If the product contacts eyes: Rinse cautiously with running water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses when present and easy to remove, then continue rinsing. Obtain medical advice if irritation continues.

If the product contacts skin: Remove contaminated clothing and rinse the skin and hair with running water. Seek medical advice if irritation occurs.

If swallowed: Do not induce vomiting. Give water to drink when the person is conscious and contact the Poisons Information Centre on 13 11 26 or a doctor.

Spills: Restrict access, wear suitable protective clothing and absorb the liquid with an inert material. Prevent the spill from entering stormwater drains or waterways and dispose of collected material according to local requirements.

Environmental and disposal information: The accessible SDS recommends disposal to sewer with copious amounts of water where permitted. Follow local waste requirements. Empty containers may be disposed of through general waste or rinsed thoroughly and recycled through an accepted collection service.

Transport classification: Not classified as Dangerous Goods under the Australian Dangerous Goods Code.
