Description

When a bed, treatment chair or shared device needs to be ready for the next user, Whiteley V-Wipes combine cleaning and low-level disinfection in one ready-to-use wipe. They are ARTG 354053 Class IIb instrument-grade disinfectant wipes for environmental surfaces and non-critical medical devices.

Each large 23 x 33cm apertured wipe is durable, highly absorbent and loaded with a pH-neutral benzalkonium chloride formula. V-Wipes are proven under dirty conditions against healthcare pathogens including VRE, CPE/CRE, MRSA, Norovirus, Measles and SARS-CoV-2. For routine disinfection, the surface must remain wet for five minutes; the 60-second claim applies specifically to SARS-CoV-2.

Ready-to-Use Cleaning and Disinfection Between Users

Two steps in one product: Removes everyday soil while completing low-level disinfection without preparing a separate spray solution.

Large durable wipe: The 23 x 33cm apertured fabric is highly absorbent and practical for beds, trolleys, chairs, benches and shared equipment.

Healthcare pathogen coverage: Proven under dirty conditions against a broad range of bacteria and viruses, including VRE, CPE/CRE, MRSA, Norovirus and SARS-CoV-2.

Equipment-conscious formula: The pH-neutral, non-corrosive lotion leaves suitable surfaces streak-free and contains no phenolics, chlorine or PHMB.

Portable for on-site and off-site use: The resealable 80-wipe pack fits on classroom shelves, treatment carts, cleaning trolleys and mobile kits taken to camps or outdoor events.

Where It Can Be Used

Whiteley V-Wipes are intended for environmental hard surfaces and non-critical medical devices. Follow the equipment manufacturer's care instructions and stop use if cracking, discolouration or surface damage appears.

Usage Guidelines

Before use: Open the pack, remove one wipe and reseal the pack immediately so the remaining wipes stay moist.

1. Remove blood, sweat, sputum or other visible soil with one V-Wipe.
2. Use a fresh V-Wipe to fully wet the surface or non-critical medical device.
3. Wipe in one direction to reduce the chance of moving contamination back across the cleaned area.
4. Keep the surface visibly wet for 5 minutes.
5. Allow the surface to dry.
6. Dispose of the used wipe in the correct waste bin.

SARS-CoV-2: The 60-second claim applies specifically to SARS-CoV-2. Use the full 5-minute wet contact time for routine disinfection.

Equipment that touches skin: Rinse the treated surface with potable water after disinfection and allow it to dry before the next use.

Food-contact hard surfaces: Rinsing is not generally required. Use potable water where the site risk assessment requires a rinse.

Important: Use a fresh wipe for each separate area or task. Do not reuse, flush, re-wet or add liquid to dried wipes.

FAQ

Q. The pack says COVID-19 in 60 seconds, but the directions say five minutes. Which time should I use?

A. Keep the surface wet for five minutes for routine disinfection. The 60-second claim applies specifically to SARS-CoV-2.

Q. The surface dried before five minutes. Do I need another wipe?

A. Yes. Use a fresh wipe to wet the surface again and restart the contact time. A dry surface has not completed the full disinfection step.

Q. Can one wipe be used on several beds or treatment areas?

A. No. Use a fresh wipe for each separate patient area or task, and replace it sooner if it becomes dry or visibly soiled.

Q. Can I use V-Wipes to clean a blood or sputum spill?

A. For a small spot, remove the material with one wipe and disinfect with a fresh wipe. Larger spills need the site's blood or body-fluid spill procedure and suitable protective equipment.

Q. Can V-Wipes damage screens or plastic equipment?

A. Yes, some materials can be affected. Whiteley reports problems with PVC and some polycarbonate, so stop use if cracking, colour change or surface damage appears.

Q. Do I need to rinse equipment that touches a patient's skin?

A. Yes. After disinfection, rinse the treated surface with potable water and allow it to dry before the next use.

Q. The pack was left open and the wipes dried out. Can I add water or disinfectant?

A. No. Do not re-wet or top up the pack because the disinfectant strength will no longer be reliable. Replace the pack and reseal it after each use.

Q. Can V-Wipes be used on hands or skin?

A. No. V-Wipes are for hard surfaces and non-critical medical devices, not hands or skin. Use an approved hand-hygiene or skin-preparation product.

Q. Can schools keep V-Wipes in classrooms for disinfection between activities?

A. Yes. They are useful for hard desks, activity tables and shared equipment when a surface needs cleaning and disinfection before the next group. Keep the surface wet for five minutes.

Q. Can V-Wipes be used on camping or picnic tables when water is limited?

A. Yes, on hard, non-porous tables. Remove food and visible dirt, keep the surface wet for five minutes and let it dry. They do not replace handwashing or washing utensils with drinking-quality water.
