Description

Lift spots and spills from carpet and upholstery without soaking the fibres

A dropped coffee, a trodden-in food spill or a mark on the office lounge rarely needs a full carpet clean. It needs a spotter that works on the mark alone, so cleaning teams and households can deal with spills as they happen instead of waiting for the next machine clean.

The citrus-based cleaner works into carpet and fabric fibres to loosen and lift the staining substance, then the loosened soil blots away onto a clean cloth. Because it is worked in from the outside of the mark toward the centre, the spot is drawn inward rather than spread wider across the pile.

It suits most carpet you will meet on a job, from low-cost acrylics and stain-resistant nylons to pure wool, wool blends, Persian rugs and printed carpets, as well as upholstery fabric. Leather, silk, velvet, corduroy and Indian cotton are the fabrics to keep it away from, and a quick colourfast test on a hidden patch settles any doubt before you treat the visible area.

The surfactants are biodegradable, and both the Safety Data Sheet and Product Data Sheet are available for teams that need documented products on site.

Treats the spot, not the whole floor: You clean the mark and the area right around it, so a single spill does not turn into a full carpet extraction.

Blots away instead of soaking in: Worked in and blotted from the outside toward the centre, the loosened soil lifts onto the cloth rather than driving down into the backing.

Handles most carpet you will meet on a job: Acrylics, stain-resistant nylons, wool and wool blends, Persian rugs and printed carpets are all within range, along with upholstery fabric.

One 5Lt pack keeps a cleaning round stocked: The 5Lt size refills working bottles across a run of sites, so mobile teams carry one product for spot work.

Biodegradable surfactants for sites that ask: The surfactants break down biologically, which suits venues and facilities that specify environmentally responsible products.

Usage Guidelines

IMPORTANT: Before use on fabric, test on a small, inconspicuous area that SPOT WIZ does not change the colour.
To do this, dab SPOT WIZ onto fabric then rub with a clean, white cloth.
If colour appears on white cloth or if fabric changes, then do not use SPOT WIZ.
Do not use on any fabric that is harmed by water or on leather, silk, velvet, corduroy or Indian Cotton.
1. Test fabric is colourfast (see above).
2. Remove as much loose soil and moisture from the area as possible.
A. For wet soil: mop up then absorb with clean, white cloth or tissue.
B. For dry soil: carefully scrape area to loosen soil, then vacuum up.
3. Apply SPOT WIZ to the remaining spillage using pump spray to dampen the fabric or carpet.
Only clean a small area at a time, no greater than 10 cm × 10 cm.
Do not overspray or over-wet the fabric.
4. With a clean, damp sponge or cloth work the SPOT WIZ evenly into the spot, working from the outside of the spot towards the
centre with firm strokes.
Do not rub in circles but in straight strokes.
Rinse sponge or cloth frequently to keep clean.
Repeat action until all of the spillage is removed.
Problem areas may need extra cleaning.
5. Dry the clean area by blotting with clean, white towel, paper or tissue.
6. IMPORTANT: when carpet or upholstery has completely dried, vacuum area to remove any dirt-holding residues.

FAQ

Q. Why does a carpet stain come back a few days after I clean it?

A. Usually because the spill soaked past the surface and wicked back up as the carpet dried. Treat a small area at a time, avoid over-wetting, blot the spot dry, and once the carpet is completely dry vacuum it to lift any residue left behind.

Q. Is this better than vinegar and baking soda for carpet stains?

A. Spot Wiz is a citrus-based surfactant spotter made for carpet and fabric, so it works straight from the bottle with no measuring or mixing. It is made for a wide fibre range, including wool and wool blends, Persian rugs and printed carpets, that a home mix is not tailored to.

Q. Can I use Spot Wiz on a wool carpet or a rug?

A. Yes. It is made for all carpet types, including pure wool and wool blends, Persian rugs and printed carpets, along with upholstery fabric. Always dab a little on a hidden spot first to check it does not lift colour, and keep it off leather, silk, velvet, corduroy and Indian cotton.

Q. Will it get rid of pet urine smell in the carpet?

A. It lifts the spot and spill from the fibres, but it is a spotter rather than an enzyme odour treatment, so a deep or repeat urine smell needs a dedicated enzyme-based product. For the visible mark, treat it while fresh, blot it dry, and vacuum once the area has dried.

Q. Do I have to rinse Spot Wiz out after cleaning?

A. There is no rinse step. Blot the treated spot dry with a clean white cloth, and once the carpet or upholstery is completely dry, vacuum the area to lift any dirt-holding residue. Keeping the area from over-wetting is what stops residue and marks returning.

Q. Does it work on old, set-in stains?

A. It works most reliably on fresh spots and spills, and older marks will often lift with a repeat treatment, working from the outside in and blotting between passes. Some stains that have dyed or damaged the fibre are permanent and will not lift, so the sooner you treat a spill, the more of it comes out.
