Description

Food-processing areas need a sanitising step after food residue, grease and detergent have been removed. Agar RF-12 is a concentrated quaternary ammonium sanitiser for cleaned kitchen and food-processing surfaces, cookware, utensils and equipment.

The formula is based on benzalkonium chloride and is made for the sanitising stage rather than the cleaning stage. That distinction gives commercial kitchens a dedicated product for routine surface sanitising without asking one chemical to do both jobs.

Dedicated Food Area Sanitising After Cleaning

  • Separate sanitising stage: RF-12 is used after detergent cleaning, so food residue and soil are removed before sanitising begins.
  • Food-processing use: Suitable for cleaned pots, pans, chopping boards, utensils, benches, floors and equipment.
  • Quaternary ammonium formula: The concentrate contains 4000 ppm benzalkonium chloride as its active ingredient.
  • Commercial concentrate: The 5Lt format suits repeated preparation of working solution for routine kitchen and processing-site use.
  • 0% VOC formulation: RF-12 has 0% volatile organic content in the current formulation.

Where It Can Be Used

Use RF-12 on cleaned surfaces and items in kitchens and food-processing areas, including:

  • Pots and pans
  • Chopping boards
  • Utensils
  • Benches
  • Floors
  • Food-processing equipment

Usage Guidelines

Hard non-porous surfaces: Dilute RF-12 1 in 20 with water. This produces a 200 ppm quaternary ammonium working solution.
1. Scrub the surface with detergent to remove food residue and soil.
2. Rinse with water and allow the surface to drain.
3. Apply the diluted RF-12 with a mop, cloth or sponge.
4. Prevent direct contact between the sanitising solution and foodstuffs.
5. Keep the surface in contact with the solution for at least 5 minutes.
6. No final rinse is required. Allow the treated surface to drain adequately before food preparation or processing resumes.

Porous, semi-porous or heavy duty sanitising: Dilute RF-12 1 in 6 with water.
1. Clean the surface with detergent, then rinse and drain.
2. Apply the diluted RF-12 with a mop, cloth or sponge.
3. Keep the surface in contact with the solution for at least 5 minutes.
4. Rinse thoroughly with potable water and allow the surface to drain well before use.

Diluted solution: Use diluted RF-12 within one month. Prepare fresh solution in a clean, dry bottle. When replacing old solution, discard it, wash the bottle, allow the bottle to dry overnight and then refill it.

Do not top up: Do not add fresh RF-12 solution to old diluted solution because this can lead to contamination.

Do not mix: Keep RF-12 separate from soap and other cleaning chemicals because mixing can deactivate the sanitising action.

FAQ
