Agar Freshaire Odor Neutralising Deodoriser 5Lt

Some odours do not shift with a quick spray of air freshener. Urine in an aged care room, a bin store in summer, soiled linen or a kennel run keep smelling because the source is still there. Freshaire is a concentrated deodoriser that goes after that source instead of covering it, which is why cleaners reach for it on the jobs where a supermarket spray gives up after an hour.

It works in two ways that matter on a real odour job. The detergent in it lifts the odour-causing soil off the surface, and the neutraliser goes after the odour molecules left hanging in the air, so the smell is dealt with rather than perfumed over. A fruity fragrance is left behind once the treated area dries.

That makes it a practical choice for commercial cleaners and facility managers working through aged care, healthcare, washrooms, laundries and waste areas, where odour control is part of the daily round. General deodorising: For general deodorising in hospitals, nursing homes and laundries, dilute 1 part Freshaire to 30 parts water. Spray the diluted solution directly onto the source of the odour, such as soiled linen, napkins, bedpans, decomposing food or garbage. Bedpans can be sprayed before and after use.

Carpets and upholstery: Dilute 1 part Freshaire to 10 parts water. Clean the carpet first and extract as much soil as you can, then spray the diluted solution onto the source of the odour. Do not rinse it out; let it dry so the neutraliser can work. For heavy odours, increase the strength to 1 part Freshaire to 5 parts water.

Laundry pre-soak: Add 10ml of Freshaire per 10kg of dry-weight laundry to treat odours through the wash.

Finding hidden odours: In aged care, a UV lamp helps locate invisible protein stains from urine or body fluids. Darken the room, shine the lamp over floors, walls and furnishings to find the marks, then spot clean them with diluted Freshaire.

Test first: Before treating carpet or upholstery, test the diluted solution on a small hidden area to check the colour holds, and avoid over-wetting the surface.

Do not mix: Do not mix Freshaire with other chemicals unless the label or Safety Data Sheet states it can be done. Keep it away from oxidising agents and anionic detergents.

Hazard classification: Freshaire is classified as hazardous and carries the signal word Danger. It causes skin irritation, causes serious eye damage, and may cause an allergic skin reaction. It is not classified as a dangerous good for transport.

Protective equipment: Wear protective gloves and eye or face protection when handling the undiluted concentrate. Avoid breathing mists, vapours or spray, and wash contacted areas thoroughly after handling.

First aid: If in eyes, rinse cautiously with water for several minutes, remove contact lenses if present and easy to do, keep rinsing and get medical attention. If on skin, wash with plenty of water and get medical advice if irritation or a rash develops. If swallowed, do not induce vomiting, rinse the mouth and sip water. Storage: Keep containers tightly closed and store out of reach of children.

Spills: Contain a spill and absorb it with sand or another suitable absorbent, and keep it out of drains and waterways.

Environmental and disposal notes: Freshaire is toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects, so do not let concentrated product enter stormwater drains or waterways. Dispose of it in accordance with local council and regulatory requirements, and refer to Section 13 of the current Safety Data Sheet for disposal guidance.
