Description

In a busy kitchen or washroom, grease, soap build-up and black mould settle into tiles, grout and shower recesses faster than a general cleaner can keep up. Agar Chloradet is a concentrated chlorinated cleaner and sanitiser built for that job, cutting through the soil and sanitising the surface in the same pass.

It carries available chlorine as sodium hypochlorite and hypochlorous acid, alongside caustic alkali and detergents. The chlorine sanitises as it kills germs and bacteria on the surface, while the detergents lift and suspend dirt so it rinses away instead of redepositing. Its high-foaming body clings to walls and shower screens, giving the chlorine time to work on grease and mould before you rinse it down.

One product for cleaning and sanitising

Because it cleans and sanitises together, one drum covers the daily wipe-down of prep benches, tiled floors, baths and basins without a second sanitiser in the trolley. It is a hospital grade disinfectant concentrate, so a 5Lt drum stretches a long way at general dilution, and the current Product Data Sheet and Safety Data Sheet are available for your site records.

Cleans and sanitises in one pass: You wipe down and sanitise a prep bench or tiled floor in a single step, with no swapping to a separate sanitiser between jobs. The chlorine and detergents work on soil and germs at the same time.

Clings to vertical surfaces: The high-foaming body holds on shower walls, screens and tiled splashbacks instead of running to the floor, so the chlorine has time to break down grease and black mould. That means less reapplying where products usually drip off.

Concentrated for a low cost per bucket: It dilutes up to 1:160 for general cleaning, so a single 5Lt drum makes many buckets of working strength. For a commercial cleaner on daily rounds, that keeps the cost per clean down.

Cuts kitchen grease and carbon: It breaks down cooking fats, greasy marks and carbon deposits into rinsable residue, the soil a general washroom cleaner tends to leave behind. Kitchens and food preparation areas rinse back to a clean surface rather than a greasy film.

Lifts mould and soap build-up from grout: It removes black mould, mildew and soapy build-up from tiles, grouting, baths and basins where they collect. Shower recesses and grout lines come back clean without switching products.

Where Chloradet can be used:

Use it on hard surfaces that water and chlorine will not damage, across kitchens and washrooms.

  • Commercial kitchens and food preparation areas
  • Bathrooms, washrooms and shower areas
  • Walls, ceilings and unpolished tiled floors
  • Baths, showers, basins and shower recesses
  • Tiles, grouting, glass and porcelain

Not suitable for: aluminium and alkali-sensitive polished floors.

Usage Guidelines

Test first: if you are unsure of a surface, try a small hidden area before you clean the whole surface.

1. Dilute to suit the job: mix up to 1 part Chloradet to 160 parts water for general cleaning. For sanitising and heavier soil, use a stronger dilution from the chart on the pack.
2. Apply the diluted mix to the surface with a mop, cloth or sponge. On walls, showers and splashbacks, let the foam cling so it stays in contact with the grime.
3. Give it a few minutes to lift grease, mould and soil, then agitate stubborn areas with a brush or cloth.
Rinse the surface thoroughly with clean water once the soil has lifted, especially in kitchens and food preparation areas.

Do not mix: never combine Chloradet with acids, descalers or other chemicals, as mixing can release toxic chlorine gas.

FAQ

Q. The mould keeps coming back on my shower grout after I clean it. Will this stop it?

A. It strips the black mould and soap build-up off tiles and grout and sanitises the surface, but mould returns wherever the area stays wet. Dry and ventilate the shower after use to slow it down. If the mould sits inside silicone seals, that caulk usually needs replacing, not just cleaning.

Q. Can I just use supermarket bleach or vinegar instead?

A. Chloradet does two jobs plain bleach and vinegar do not: the detergents and caustic alkali cut grease and lift soil while the chlorine sanitises, and the high-foaming body clings to vertical tiles. It also dilutes up to 1:160 for economy. Never mix chlorine with vinegar or any acid, as that releases chlorine gas.

Q. Do I need to rinse it off in a kitchen or food prep area?

A. Yes, rinse the surface thoroughly with clean water after the product has lifted the soil. It is a heavy chlorine and caustic cleaner, so rinsing clears the chemical and the dissolved grease from benches and floors before food handling resumes.

Q. Can I use it on aluminium or polished stainless surfaces?

A. No, keep Chloradet off aluminium and alkali-sensitive polished floors, because the chlorine and caustic alkali will pit and damage them. Use it on chlorine-tolerant hard surfaces such as tiles, porcelain, glass, baths and showers. Test a small hidden spot first if you are unsure of the material.

Q. Can I mix it with another cleaner to make it stronger?

A. No, never mix Chloradet with acids, descalers, ammonia or any other cleaner. Combining chlorine with acids releases toxic chlorine gas, which is dangerous in an enclosed washroom or kitchen. Adjust the dilution instead if you need more cleaning strength.

Personal protection: Chloradet concentrate is corrosive and can cause severe skin burns and eye damage, so wear gloves and eye protection and keep it off your skin and eyes. Work in a well ventilated area.

If it contacts eyes: rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice if irritation persists.

Do not mix: never combine with acids, descalers or other chemicals, as mixing can release toxic chlorine gas.

Storage: store below 25 degrees C in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight, keep the container closed, and keep it away from incompatible chemicals. Keep out of reach of children and pets.

Environmental and disposal: Chloradet is biodegradable and breaks down into simpler by-products once diluted and rinsed to drain. Do not pour concentrated product into stormwater drains or watercourses. Dispose of in accordance with local council and regulatory requirements, and refer to Section 13 of the current SDS for disposal details..
