Description

Agar 3D Gloss is a crystal clear floor polish designed to deliver a high gloss finish on vinyl, sealed timber, and stone floors. It is formulated for busy commercial environments where durability, appearance, and safety are essential. The polish forms a strong, clear film that enhances floor appearance while standing up to heavy foot traffic.

It's a water based acrylic floor sealer for vinyl, timber and stone floors, made in Australia by Agar Cleaning Systems. Coverage runs 45 to 55 square metres per litre, so one 5Lt bottle lays roughly 225 to 275 square metres of thin, even coat. Application is undiluted, straight from the bottle, using a fringe mop or a bucket mop.

How 3D Gloss Enhances Shine and Floor Durability?

3D-Gloss dries to a colourless, tough modified acrylic film, metal cross-linked, with an outstanding gloss level and a very high degree of scratch repair when burnished. Floors reach peak gloss after only one or two buffs and keep their sparkle through the day, because the polymer resists abrasion instead of wearing away under traffic. High burnish response is what lets gas buffers and electric buffers both bring the shine up.

The fast cure rate is why supermarkets run it: the floor goes back into service quickly and the crew can burnish it under UHS machines. Slip resistance sits on the record too, tested under dry conditions to AS 4663-2013 at a mean dynamic coefficient of friction of 0.70 against a 0.40 minimum. The current Product Data Sheet and Safety Data Sheet are both on this page, so those numbers can go into the site file before the first coat goes down.

Allow each coat to dry completely before applying additional coats (approximately 20-30 minutes per coat).

Once the final coat is dry, use a buffing machine (gas or electric) to enhance the gloss and durability.

FAQ

Q. What floors can 3D-Gloss be used on?

A. Vinyl tiles, sealed timber, sealed terrazzo, sealed marble, terracotta, slate, linoleum and brick floors. The floor has to be stripped, rinsed and dry first, and terrazzo, marble and polished concrete take one coat of FIRST BASE as the basecoat before 3D-Gloss goes down.

Q. Can I use it on ceramic or porcelain tiles?

A. Not on non-porous ceramic or porcelain, because acrylic sealers do not bond to them. Pre-test first: two coats on one tile, let it dry, press packaging tape across it and rip it off. If the film peels, seal that floor with STONE BLOCK instead.

Q. Do I need to dilute it?

A. No, it goes on undiluted in thin, even coats with a fringe mop or bucket mop. Coverage runs 45 to 55 square metres per litre, so one 5Lt bottle lays roughly 225 to 275 square metres per coat.

Q. How many coats does a new floor need?

A. Four to start with: the basecoat plus 2 or 3 coats of 3D-Gloss. After 2 to 7 days, lay 2 more coats, making 6 in total for a sound foundation and a real depth of shine.

Q. When can I burnish it?

A. Use soft buffing pads such as champagne for the first week, then move to Jackeroo Lite or other UHS pads. Peak gloss comes up after only one or two buffs, on gas or electric machines.

Q. Is the floor slippery once it dries?

A. No. It passes the slip resistance test in AS 4663-2013 under dry conditions, with a mean dynamic coefficient of friction of 0.70 against a minimum requirement of 0.40.
